Participants will make a small mosaic to take away with them.  There will be two designs to choose from: a geometric pattern, inspired by the war memorial in Peebles, which will make a beautiful pot stand and a design using the snow drop as its main image, celebrating the coming of spring and the new year ahead. Joy will provide an introduction to the methods of mosaic making and teach participants to use wheeled nippers to cut the vitreous (glass) mosaic tiles to shape. Joy will be on hand to help with cutting at all times. After lunch, Joy will demonstrate grouting, and each participant will be given a bag of grout to take away with them to finish off the mosaic at home the following day.
